Welcome

NOT just another Astronomical web site

to Brough Astronomy

(AKA BLAS: Blackburn Leisure Astronomy Society)

This is a temporary webpage – the BLAS website is being reconstructed

Home of probably the largest observatory in Yorkshire!

Interested in Astronomy?

Expert or complete novice, there is something for you at BLAS

New telescope? Need some help? We can assist!
ALL FREE of course

We aim to promote all aspects of astronomy, whether it is first-time users trying to understand their telescope or find their way round the night sky, or more experienced astronomers expanding their interest in all aspects of the subject, such as astrophotography.

We are a friendly society where we always endeavour to make you feel welcome.  We have facilities for disabled users.  If you are new to astronomy or more experienced and want to get involved, then you are most welcome to join us, this applies to individuals as well as groups.

So if you are interested in astronomy, on fourth MONDAY of the month at 7:30 p.m. (Club nights) – or most Friday evenings, from 8pm – COME ON DOWN where the kettle will be on  …or even get a beer in the club house.

Email us for more information… our website is being rebuilt  after the host company closed down…
